The Columbian & Diamond Necklace

The Colombian Emerald and Diamond Necklace designed by Edmond Chin for Boghossian was the top seller of the Magnificent Jewels sale at Christie's in Hong Kong, receiving $7 million.

The piece contains 28 cushions and octagonal-cut Muzo emeralds with a total weight of 117.60 carats and 48.01 carats of oval and rectangular-cut, D-to F-coloured diamonds. It ran just under its low estimate at the November 29 sale, which garnered a total of $51.5 million, the auction house said on Sunday.
Prices of top quality-colored diamonds, jadeites, and rubies will be offered today by collectors from 24 countries and four continents around the world for some of Christie's best-known jewels," said Vickije Sek, chairman of the Asia Pacific auction house for jewelry. "The depth and promoting sales results reflect healthy demand in the market."
It pointed out that Christie sold 76% of the items offered at the Hong Kong event. On 8 December the company will be celebrating its sale of New York Beautiful Jewels.
